“Used in the Production of Grimm”
An Original Doppelarmburst (Double Crossbow)
Including 6 Dopplearmburst Bolts (Arrows)
Also the Studio “Set” “Pelican Case” in which the Doppelarmburst and Multiple Doppelarmburst Bolts were housed during production of the series.
A brief history of the Dopplearmburst Prop as told to me by the Grimm Series Prop Master (Fabricator).
There was a total of 7 Doppelarmbursts created for the Grimm TV series.
3) Doppelarmbursts were made for the filming of season 1,and all 3 were heavily damaged and could not be used for further filming by the end of season 1.
They currently reside in the possession of the Prop Master(Fabricator).
2) Doppelarmbursts were made for the filming of season 2,once again both of these were heavily damaged and non- usable by the ending of season 2.
The location of these 2 Doppelarmbursts is unknown.
2) Doppearmbursts were made for the filming of season 3, at the end of season 3, the Prop Master threw on a fresh powder coat, and new strings on the bows, etc… and both were back on the production set.
This Doppelarmburst up for auction is one of the last two Doppelarmbursts from season 3 thru the completion of the series in season 6.
It is the ONLY Doppelarmburst known to be in a usable working condition.
The whereabouts of the other Doppelarmburst is uncertain.
Also there were 20 arrows (Doppelarmburst Bolts) made by the Prop Master
This Auction includes 6 of those Doppelarmburst Bolts!

The Doppelarmburst and the Doppelarmburst Bolts which were two individual auction lot sales from Screenbid (The official auction held after the final season episode) into one auction.
If your gonna use the Doppelarmburst to take down Wesen, You’d best have as many of the Doppelarmburst Bolts (Arrows) to do so!

The Grimm “Doppelarmburst & Doppelarmburst Bolts” come with two Certificate of Authenticity dated March 2017 from Screenbid, lot numbers878 & 1427
(Screenbid was the official auction which took place after the conclusion of the Grimm series last episode).

The Doppelarmburst was used by Trouble in the climax of Season 4 Episode 22 “Cry Havoc”
As Juliette changes into a Hexenbeist and about to truly kill Nick, Trouble who Juliette is unaware of, shoots the Doppelarmburst
hitting Juliette with both bolts (arrows) and subsequently killing her as we are led to believe.
Personally, one of my favorite scenes!
Now as to the condition of the Doppelarmburst, Doppelarmburst Bolts
and the Pelican Case:
The Doppelarmburst
: the item has been made to look as though it was burned in a fire, hence Episode 19 Season 4 (Iron Hands) when
Juliette sets Nicks (Aunt Marie’s) trailer ablaze.
Luckily for all, the Doppelarmburst survived the fire and was used ultimately
by Trouble to stop Juliette (the Hexenbeast Fire Bug) from
Killing Nick.
The top scroll is of the unit is missing, this piece is used as a lever to hold the Doppelarmburst Bolts down in their flight track. This can still be accomplished by pulling up on the existing piece with your fingers.
There is a leather strap wrapped around the handle, I do not know if this grip is for any purpose, however I did not, and will not remove the leather strap.
The bottom bow string does not have a lock so that the bowstring cannot be used to fire any Doppelarmburst Bolts.
Once again this is a prop, so do not expect it to fire the Doppelarmburst Bolts a far distance or with much impact behind them.

6) Bolts (arrow) sizes each exhibit scratches, paint chips,bent tips etc…
What you would expect from used props.
Some are magnetic.
The tips on one of the medium sized and both large sized bolts come off.
This was indicated in many episodes due to the fact that the Bolts are to be filled with Hellebore extract and the other with Hemlock extract mainly to take down Blutbad at a distance.
However, Nick discovered during the course of the series that the Doppelarmburst could be used on many dangerous Wesen at a safe distance as well.
The Doppelarmburst Studio “Set” Case (Pelican Case):
Interior is configured out of foam which is contoured for the Doppelarmburst
and it’s Bolts.
Case has signs of usage but still maintains its sturdiness for Maximum protection of its contents.
There is residue of a sticker label on the top side of the case, probably
an identification label.
